Kara Angan is a music and culture journalist from Cebu, Philippines. She has spent the last four years writing stories at the intersection of Southeast Asian music, culture, society, and politics.
In the past, she served as Billboard Philippines’ OPM / Regional Music writer and HipHopDX Asia’s Staff Writer. Additionally, her work has been featured on NME Asia, Rappler, YoungSTAR, PhilStar Life, and The Rest Is Noise PH.
Currently, she is the editor of Coast2Coast, an independent music publication and events curator focused on bridging the music of Visayas and Mindanao and the world.
