Muriel Gonzales, known as Muri, is a Filipino musician & violinist turned singer-songwriter, now based between Manila and London. A member of Manila’s pioneering indie folk band The Ransom Collective, Muri has evolved her career into an exciting solo journey, blending her signature violin swells with soulful melodies & introspective songwriting. Think Jorja Smith meets Arlo Parks, featuring Lindsey Stirling – Muri’s live performance is a unique combo of neo soul pop energy, infused with simultaneous singing and violin playing.

Her debut EP, 11ème received widespread attention, with features in Billboard Philippines, Bandwagon, NME, & Earmilk. This follows earlier recognition with her single “Letters,” which earned nominations for Wishclusive Contemporary R&B Performance of the Year at the Wish Awards 2022 & Favorite Female Artist at the 35th Awit Awards. In 2023, her collaboration with LUSTBASS on the remix of “Thunder” was nominated for Best Remix Recording at the 36th Awit Awards. She has performed live on major Philippine radios, including Magic 89.9 & Wish 107.5, which boasts a viewership of over 15 million.

Her live performances span continents, from launching her debut EP in Manila, her first solo showcase at the 2024 AXEAN Music Festival in Bali to performing at Fête de la Musique in Paris. She’s graced stages around Asia, performing with The Ransom Collective at festivals like Laneway Festival (Singapore 2018) & India-Asean Music Festival (India 2018).

With her extensive experience and achievements, she is now poised in her solo career to expand beyond Asia, building her presence in Europe and the US and taking the next steps to reach global audiences.
