HAHA Master is an indie rock band founded in 2016. The band’s name comes from a quote from French philosopher, Henri Bergson: “Laughter disregards all rules, it is the victory of vitality over non vitality”. HAHA Master play a brand of psychedelic electro rock that aims to surprise and satire more than amuse as their name would suggest.

Their music blends psychedelic and electronic elements, with a philosophical and skeptical tone. Their live performances are like an intoxicating potion, as if in a dream, attempting to unveil the cracks in the scenery with their music. The engaging stage presence of sassy lead singer, Fang Fang, backed up by a tightly rehearsed collection of some veteran Yunnan musicians, combine to create a stunning live performance that is both hip and unexpected at the same time.

They released their 2024 album domestically, after a two year hiatus, with their single “”The world rushing towards you”” (扑面而来的世界) achieving minor hit status with over 1.2M streams in nine months.
