Myanmar, often called “the land of temples and pagodas”, has a history marred by decades of war, poverty, and unrest. This difficult backdrop provides fertile ground for the next wave of authentic heavy music to emerge. Enter AGAINST THE GRAVITY, a five-piece band that fuses intense metalcore with soaring alternative melodies, drawing from their shared struggles and experiences. Comprised of Nay Htet Soe Moe (vocals), M Gam Ja Aung (guitar), Augustine (guitar), Lin Pyae (bass), Dave (drums) their sound channels the fierce energy of bands like Killswitch Engage and Linkin Park.

The band’s name, AGAINST THE GRAVITY, symbolizes their defiance against life’s darker forces, including societal problems, lies, and corruption. Their FAILED TO REMEMBER EP encapsulates this mission, with tracks like “DOPE GOD” and the epic “FAILED TO REMEMBER” teeming with raw emotion. The band’s journey began with Nay Htet’s discovery of heavy metal as a way to cope with a difficult childhood in Myanmar.
