Single By Sunday

Glasgow, Scotland, UK

Single By Sunday are a melodic Pop Punk band from Glasgow.

Formed in 2015, they cite the likes of Blink 182, The 1975 and My Chemical Romance as influences.

Known for their trademarked coloured hair, Single By Sunday combine their raucous guitars and energetic live shows with a millennial brashness whilst retaining some of the original mid-eighties Pop Punk attitudes.

The desire for success and their popularity has seen them open at the prestigious Scottish Music Awards, be awarded the ‘Best Emerging International Artist’ at Indie Week (Toronto) and crowned winners of the Capital FMs ‘One’s To Watch’ competition.

The band is comprised of Josh Ladds – lead vocals (rhythm guitar), Jonny Eakins – lead guitar (backing vocals) Jack Black – bass guitar (backing vocals) and Simon Drummond – Drums, they are often referred to as the Scottish 5 Seconds of Summer.

Their style of melodic Pop Punk allows them to embrace their passion for including other musical styles and genres, e.g., synth pop, dance and even 80s Disco. “We just like to explore music and don’t believe that genres should have boundaries.

Additionally, the band have also devised their own ‘Anti Bullying’ programme which they take into schools to promote issues such as online safety.

Following their debut release (Get Up Get Out – 2015) the band have released a string of Eps and singles. They have successfully toured in Germany, Ireland, Canada and America, including appearing on the Vans Warp Tour, along with Sum 41 and The Story So Far. The band has also appeared at the iHeart radio ‘Dunkin Lounge’ in New York where they also performed an exclusive set for the Z100 radio station.

Adding another feather to their bow, Single By Sunday appeared at the ‘First Night’ celebrations in Boston MA. The following year, 2019 (at the request of NBC10 Boston’s TV Network) they returned to headline the event to a staggering 50K+ people.

Single By Sunday also completed their first sold out UK Tour in January 2020.
