Arcana Kings draws on Canada’s rich, cultural mosaic to create an original mix of musical genres that is unique among contemporary groups. A blend of hard rock, arena rock, punk and celtic punk combined with their secret weapon: bagpipes!

Arcana Kings exemplify the honest, hard working, proud and humble spirit of Canada. Onstage their performances thrill fans with their one-of-a-kind live shows that burst with positive energy.

Arcana Kings came together from members of the Johnny McCuaig Band. Johnny McCuaig on rhythm guitar, lead vocals and bagpipes, Kevin Kyle on bass, James Picton on lead guitar, Allan Morrison on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, and Graham Templeman on drums and backing vocals. Expanding on their growing popularity, the group took the opportunity to re-brand with the release of Lions as Ravens embracing their fresh new sound. This 5 piece band has branded their music “Stadium Rock” because of their high energy show and their ability to mesmerize audiences with their big sound. While using the bagpipes on songs like “Here We Go” “Unbreakable” and “Head Full Of Devil”, Arcana Kings take a page from AC/DC’s Long Way to the Top and combine it with the influences of Foo Fighters and Danko Jones.

“A gripping, climaxing explosion of ancient and current sound, that rises in your soul, and lifts you off your seat!” – Trisha Elliot – Night Life Columnist and owner of Say It Loud Writing Design

The Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders use the bands single, Here We Go, (Lions As Ravens) as the professional sports team takes to the field at the start of every home game in Mosaic Stadium. Here We Go is quickly becoming a sports anthem with CFL and NHL teams to fire up athletes and their fans.

The band was also featured in the opening and halftime live music shows for the Western-Semi Finals in 2018 in support of the Roughriders. As ‘The Johnny McCuaig Band’, they have toured overseas in countries such as Japan, Sweden and Mexico, and have secured fans from across the Western United States through tours and annual performances on Fremont Street in Las Vegas.

Arcana Kings were nominated for awards such as Best Music Video, Artist of the Year and Best Rock Song for the Kootenay Music Awards, as well as Best Rock Video for Canadian Independent Music Video Awards.
